Network Traffic Analysis Module

The Network Traffic Analysis Module was designed for estimating traffic volume on each link (intersatellite or "ground station-satellite") at a given time.
For a given set of network nodes on the ground, the user can specify the number of randomly chosen source-destination pairs of nodes, the traffic load offered to the network by each pair of nodes, and a valid range of distances between the source and the destination on the ground.
For each pair of nodes on the ground, the Network Traffic Analysis Module calculates and displays:
- distance on the ground between the source and the destination;
- list of nodes (satellites) in the chain;
- number of steps from the source to the destination;
- total path length (km);
- end-to-end packet delay, which includes propagation delays, the user-specified value of the delay at a satellite node, and network access delay.
For each active link, the module calculates the number of active flows traversing the link and the link load, i.e., the Sum of all active flows traversing the link.
The module displays the histogram illustrating the distribution of the following parameters at a given moment:
- intersatellite link load - one direction;
- intersatellite link load - both directions;
- number of steps from the source to the destination;
- total path length (km),
- end-to-end packet delay.
