Constellation Design Examples (page 4)

The following two designs were generated using the "Periodic Coverage Constellation Design / Circular Orbits" module. Constellation with circular orbits (example 4.1) provides periodic coverage with a maximum gap of less than 2 hours to any point on Earth at a minimum ground elevation angle of 12o. Constellation with circular orbits (example 4.2) provides periodic coverage with a maximum gap of 2 hours to any point on Earth at a minimum ground elevation angle of 20o.
Example 4.1
Constellation Parameters Values
Number of Satellites 7
Orbit Inclination (deg) 80
Altitude of Perigee (km) 570.0
Altitude of Apogee (km) 570.0
Number of Planes 7
Number of Satellites per Plane 1
